Wastewater treatment is critical to many industrial plants, including pulp and paper, petrochemical, food processing, meat processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Waste activated sludge (WAS) is generated in large quantities at industrial plants as a by-product of treating wastewater. Currently, WAS is generally managed as a waste and is either incinerated, land-filled, or land applied. However, WAS has economic and environmental value: it is a potential source of green renewable energy that can lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and a plant’s environmental footprint. Making it an economically viable waste-to-energy solution.
MicroSludge® significantly increases the rate of anaerobic digestion of industrial WAS. Faster digestion decreases the capital and operating costs to produce biogas. By converting waste to biogas, less polymer is needed to dewater the sludge and less sludge remains for disposal.

MicroSludge can be easily added to industrial plants to create a cost effective waste-to-energy solution.
