Management Team

Gordon Skene, President  & CEO, Director
Mr. Skene has a broad range of experience in the management, strategic direction, and financing of emerging companies in the technology sector. He has served as a director of many technology companies. Prior to joining Paradigm in 2004, he was the CEO of FutureFund Capital (VCC) Corp., a venture capital fund.

Mr. Skene's professional background includes positions as Director of Corporate Finance of Canada’s largest forest products company, and CEO of several early stage technology companies.

Mr. Skene holds a Bachelor of Science (Physics and Economics) and a Masters of Science in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Robert Stephenson, Chief Technical Officer and Founder
Dr. Stephenson is the lead inventor of MicroSludge and founder of the Company. He is also the inventor of a number of other systems to clean industrially contaminated soil and water. Previously, Dr. Stephenson was a consulting chemical engineer with Klohn-Crippen Consultants Ltd., an engineering and environmental consulting firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Prior to joining Klohn-Crippen, Dr. Stephenson was a research scientist at National Research Council’s Biotechnology Research institute in Montreal on a variety of anaerobic digestion related studies.  

Dr. Stephenson has his Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) from Queen’s University, and Masters of Applied Science (Bio-Resource Engineering) and Ph.D. (Chemical Engineering) from the University of British Columbia.

Patrick Neill, Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Neill has 20 years of engineering and management experience with industrial process automation companies. Prior to joining Paradigm, he was a Senior Engineering Manager at Honeywell Process Solutions, where he led and managed the research, development, and custom engineering of a complete product line of profile control systems for the paper making industry. Patrick has managed the development and successful launch of several new products involving a variety of technologies. He is experienced in developing products required to perform continuously and reliably under harsh operating conditions.

Mr. Neill is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Sheffield, UK, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Jeff Mercer, Director of Finance and Administration
Mr. Mercer has over 25 years of accounting, business, and management experience in manufacturing and R&D environments. Prior to joining Paradigm, Mr. Mercer held the positions of Chief Accountant and Controller at Westbay Instruments Inc., a technology company in the groundwater monitoring business. After Westbay was acquired by Schlumberger Canada Limited, Mr. Mercer was appointed Controller for Schlumberger Monitoring Services in 2002.

Mr. Mercer holds a Diploma of Technology in Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Jeff Plato, Director of Sales
Mr. Plato has over 20 years of experience in engineering, sales, marketing and senior management in the telecommunications, alternate power, and industrial software industries. Jeff has managed business units, international sales channels, technical support teams, software production, and quality control and information systems. His employment history covers management positions at Hewlett Packard, GE Fanuc, and Hydrogenics Corporation. Mr. Plato has a proven track record of successfully launched technology products into the global marketplace.  

Mr. Plato holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta.
